As the performance unfolds, participants helps a customs officer identify a suspicious vessel in the sea, take part in a live trading auction, before meeting a storyteller whose tales are shaped by Teochew oral storytelling. The city’s landmarks become active backdrops making the history feel immediate, immersive and lived.
